Have you ever noticed when trying to have a conversation with a certain type of person that you'd get your point across better by talking to a wall?

What I mean is that some people with certain personalities never see anything but how the world affects them. They just never see you, never hear you and never have a clue that you'd like to express something, anything, in the conversation. It's always about them, their plans, their thoughts, their day, whatever. These people annoy me.

Now, I'm sure that at some point in my life I've been one of these people; I'll admit that. What I'm talking about is the people that are like this all the time.

Perhaps they don't realize it; perhaps they're truly egocentric; perhaps they've had a really difficult day; perhaps they think they're the only one in the world that has problems; perhaps they think they are more important than their fellow conversationalist; perhaps they just don't care; who knows! Whatever it is, I've never found a way to combat it. Even trying to point it out or throwing a little guilt their way doesn't work. It's truly an amazing thing to witness.

Anyway, I wonder if anyone else has noticed this about these people. I seem to know quite a few of this type!
