I'm a day late, I know.
I saw a lot of propaganda this year for freedom, but not just patriotic freedom. I saw 'celebrate your independence' and 'celebrate your freedom.' I liked both because I interpreted them on a personal level.. yes, I do live independently and that's something to celebrate...yes, there are freedoms in my life that I didn't feel free to celebrate for a long time, so acknowledging these freedoms gives me a sense of graciousness. I guess the holiday means more when you can apply the freedoms on a day-to-day basis; it's hard to celebrate the larger, less tangible freedoms. Even the freedom of choice is something I breathe thanks for; I read once that in every situation you have three choices - the yes, the no and the entirely different option. That's a freedom I forgot I have and forget to use, occasionally.
Anyway, hope everyone was safe and (fairly) sober. I blew off some fireworks, which I don't do too often, and that was fun.
