Today life reminds me of the weather.
You wake up in the morning, all warm and snuggly in your bed, to the bright sunshine and are thrilled there's a sunny day ahead. You're smiling, the sky's blue and you are so glad for that big ball of warmth. Then you check the weather, just out of curiousity. There's a winter storm watch in effect until noon of the next day! What? Yep - ice, snow, wind, freezing rain and sleet, a severely dropping barometer and falling temperatures. Well, I'll be; I never saw that coming.
Sometimes in life I'm cruising along - happy, sunny, smiling and grateful - when a winter storm sneaks up and smacks me upside the head. Suddenly there's tension, stress, disagreement and hurt and I have no idea where it's come from. I'm still warm and cozy from the happy, sunny day and I'm feeling completely unprepared for the ice and frigid temperatures.
I guess the moral of the thought is that you don't always know when the storms are coming and therefore, you can't always prepare for them. It's still best to enjoy the sunshine and blue skies when you can, but know that it can't always be that sunny.
