Happy September.

Today is nearly perfect outside! There's a fabulous breeze, warm sunshine and it's in the low 70s. We have an outside, upstairs balcony with a table set and whenever I sit out there with coffee or the paper I feel like I'm on vacation at some little cottage somewhere. It's fabulous; I love it.

School started this week and I think I'm ready to jump in. My internship begins full-throttle next week and although I'm looking forward to the intensity of the experience, I'm nervous for those initial learning blunders and the uncertainty of what to do or say. My classes are going to be challenging, mostly reading and papers, but again a large opportunity for me to soak up as much information as I can. Do you think school is unique in the amount of openness and malleability we allow ourselves to have on an experiential basis?

It's the holiday weekend and we have very small plans set, which I'm quite looking forward to. I'm also looking forward to having that extra day to ease myself back into the pressures of academia; I do have weekly reading quizzes for one class.

Happy Labor Day!
